Sidley represented Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. in its participation in Hollandse Kust West Site VI offshore wind power project (the Project) located approximately 53km off the northwest coast of the Netherlands. This will be Chubu’s first direct investment in an offshore wind power project outside Japan. The Project is being developed by Shell plc and N.V. Eneco (Eneco). Chubu entered into an agreement with Eneco to acquire 30% of the equity interests of Ecowende C.V., the operating company of the Project. One of the objectives of the Project is ecological innovation which seeks to minimize the environmental impact of the Project. Closing of the Project is subject to regulatory approval.
